Professional sports teams go to great lengths to trade for the best players. The game depends upon the performance of the players, and getting the best of the best gives them an edge in each game. But as we all know, just getting the best doesn’t guarantee a team will win the season; if it did, then there would be little drama in watching the games. Obviously, there are a lot of factors that translate into wins or losses during each season. Injuries, weather conditions during games, coaching, good or bad calls on plays, and even the mood of the team when playing can shift the result of the game. Winning or losing does depend partially upon the talent the team starts with, but so much that can’t be foreseen makes the games exciting, because anything can happen.

To call life a “game” sounds like we are trivializing it, but some of the same rules apply in sports or in life . Economically, some start life in a poor family or a broken family, yet rise above those circumstances and fare quite well. Others may have a great start in a wealthy family, but seem to flounder in life. No one will argue that some start out with advantages over others. We can vote a high school classmate as “most likely to succeed”, then check back thirty years later in amazement at how wrong our choice was. A good start in life is not as important as what someone does throughout life.

It’s not a game
Some of us feel that we’ve won or lost the “genetic lottery”, being born with genes that either help or hurt us in life. Doctors always want a family history to look for health issues that might have a genetic source, so they obviously think that genetics matter with your health. Genetics do matter, because they provide the specific set of codes, most of which are dormant, that are used to build and regulate your body. We see the impact of genetics simply because we are all built differently.

The job of your DNA is to steer your development as the cells it regulates process their environment and build from its materials. Your genetic code is like a blueprint, except that it is a very malleable blueprint which works in partnership with the environment that it sees. It is in control, but it has so many alternate instructions hidden away that it appears to be very changeable. If one set of codes is made operational because you are a couch potato, and you start exercising, you will see some alternative codes kick in as your body adjusts to its new environment of physical activity. Your genetic library has “natural intelligence”, which, like artificial intelligence, adapts quickly to changes presented to it.

Your body’s genetic team is 99.9% the same as that of every other human. Your “genetic lottery” amounts to only .1%, or one out of a thousand, which makes you unique. Some of those players on your team may be top notch, or you may have some which are not so great. Most likely you have a mix of the two. We can now analyze your codes and tell you how your team is comprised. If you have players that tend to steer you in a bad direction, identifying them gives you an opportunity to improve their performance through environmental changes. If a particular gene code won’t play ball, then perhaps it can be benched to let another player take over.

Thanks to modern genetic analysis, so-called “high risk” genes can be identified. If you learn that you have some high risk genes, you could easily think you are doomed to a shorter or more disease-prone life. Far from it! Yes, the high risk genes are not what you want, but the environment that you give your body is much more important, and largely within your control. Don’t hide behind a diagnosis of some bad gene that will shorten your life: if you recognize you are dealing with a bit of a handicap, play the game of life better and you will likely find yourself way ahead of your neighbor with great genes who is eating the standard American diet and not pursuing health — or worse, who is depending upon prescription drugs to “stay healthy.”

Don’t gamble in this lottery
Let’s look at one major component of your body’s environment: your diet. Since diet is your primary source of nutrients, and along with that it is also a major source of toxins, diet will be a huge factor in determining your cellular response. What they see in nutrition and toxicity will cause your cells to pick from their genetic library the codes that fit that environment.

Now let’s add exercise to the mix, which improves circulation and oxygenation of your cells. Then add proper sleep, giving your cells time to rest and repair. Basically, when you live your life well, giving your cells what they need to play well, they will play well.

This study puts it into perspective: published in BMJ Evidence-Based Medicine, researchers from the Zhejiang University School of Medicine and the University of Edinburgh conducted a statistical study of 353,742 participants, cross referencing groups of high genetic risk, average risk, and low risk against lifestyle (smoking/alcohol, diet, exercise, and sleep levels). They did identify a 21% increase in risk of early death in the genetically high risk group against the low risk group with no lifestyle changes. However, those with healthy lifestyles were able to offset their risk by 62%, and could extend their lifespan by as much as five years by that lifestyle. Then they looked at those with the unhealthy lifestyles typical of so many of us: regardless of genetic risk, those participants had a 78% chance of early death. (1)

A good lifestyle can erase that 78% risk, and offset almost two thirds of the risk of life-shortening genetics. Those with a good lifestyle, even with negative genetics, do better than those with the best genetics who don’t take care of themselves. Environment is the driver, and those with good diet, sleep, and exercise outpace everyone else. But is that all there is to the story? This study left out one vital component of health and longevity…

Wait, there’s more…
Published in PNAS (Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences), researchers reviewed the effects of optimism on longevity. Their research of 71,173 participants showed that optimism alone corresponded to 11% to 15% longer lifespan. This was regardless of the lifestyle factors considered in the BMJ study. (2) So this increase in lifespan due to mental factors is on top of the increase of a good physical lifestyle. What happens when you combine them? The result is an even longer lifespan and healthspan.

This should not be surprising, because signals from your brain are part of the environment that your cells live in. They all count in giving your cells the best conditions possible to thrive. When they are not under pressure to change, they rarely change their gene expression. Under stress, gene expression changes, sometimes very rapidly, and that can lead to bad results from good and bad genes.

Humans have about 20,000 genes. That’s a pretty big genetic team. Some of them are star players, and some of them are weak. You want to coach them to play as well as they can, and that means providing the right environment and the right signals for them to play well. If you do, your team will be playing for many years, better than many around you even if you have “inferior” genes. You can get good results from your team regardless. Make your team a winner.

Dr. Nemec’s Review

Do you understand the importance of these studies? A good lifestyle can erase the 78% risk, and offset almost two-thirds of the risk of life-shortening genetics. Those with a good lifestyle, even with negative genetics, do better than those with the best genetics who don’t take care of themselves.

The most important thing is missing
What these studies fail to realize is: they’re looking at a general healthy diet, but when the diet becomes living and raw plant-based food, this decreases the amount of inflammation in the body at the highest level from the dietary point of view.

Fasting
First and foremost fast from the SAD standard American diet by eating living and raw plant-based food. But also add to this intermittent fasting, which is time restricted eating. This gives the body a longer time to rest, digest and heal. Just these two factors change the power of the food category by 100%.

Your genes are very plastic, very moldable, very changeable. They’re just a base blueprint, so it really does not matter if you received good genes or bad genes. If you have lived to 20 years old your genes are good enough: now it’s the environment that controls your health, your life, your longevity, and most importantly the quality of your life.

Quality versus quantity
In health terms, this is called healthspan versus lifespan. What difference does it make if you live to be 105 if you’re on 25 medications and handicapped physically and mentally. Now, what if you could live to be 105 with no medication, no handicaps, no physical limitations, and no mental or cognitive limitations?

Choices
In life, everything comes down to choices. What you choose is what you get. And as these studies showed, the environment you choose is the environment you manifest at the genetic and health level. The beauty of this is that you can choose. Your genes are not the dictator of your life, they’re just the basic blueprint that’s meant to be modified by the environment you choose each and every moment

  • The diet you choose
  • The exercise you choose
  • The time you go to bed that you choose
  • What you spend your free time doing that you choose
  • The thoughts you think on that you choose to think on
  • The purpose you live for

The problem
Unfortunately, since early childhood, most all of us have been trained with addictions to pleasures, especially food pleasures. The problem with these addictions was that they were to harmful foods that did not promote positive epigenetic benefits. These addictions included wrong food choices that cause inflammation and toxicity in the body. This then causes the genes to adapt to the inflammation and toxicity, and this is the root of disease. So in a sense you were programmed to fail from early childhood. Nobody’s fault: we’re all trained the same way — the way our parents trained us, we train our children.

Break the chain
Since we were trained the same way our parents were trained and the same way their parents were trained, it’s time to change.

The problem with addictions: they are a form of bondage, of being imprisoned. We could call it being chained to the addiction. It’s time to break the chain of addictions and you can do this. We at Revolution New Medicine have helped people do this for the last 40 years. The most important addiction and the most damaging is the addiction to health-robbing foods. Once you break this addiction, the rest become so much easier because now you know how it’s done, and all addictions are resolved in the similar manner.

But what about a disease?
Many have contacted us over the last 40 years at Revolution New Medicine and asked the big questions:

  • Can I heal this cancer?
  • Can I heal this neurological disease?
  • Can I heal this auto immune disease?
  • Can I reverse this cardiovascular?
  • Can I change this diabetes?
  • Can I overcome this depression and anxiety?
  • Can I reverse this memory loss?

The answer is always the same.

What made these diseases? And don’t say my genes.

Did you get the right answer yet?

It’s the environment that you choose, or that was chosen for you early in your life and you became addicted to. But you can change that environment, and in doing so you can heal your disease. We’ve seen it thousands of times, and as the research shows, the environment controls the gene — so when you change those environmental factors, you change the outcome and you win the game.

Have you ever noticed in sports — sometimes the most unlikely team wins. A bunch of average players all of a sudden play like the highest rated players when they play together, when they play in synchrony.

There is an energy when everyone is playing as one. And this energy is a multiplier, not an adder when a team plays like this. It’s a 10-times multiplier, and this is the game changer, so your team which is your genes can be a bunch of average — even below average — players, but when you change the environment — mentally, emotionally, physically, and most importantly, spiritually — everything changes, and the worst can become the best.

“But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”

What none of these studies addressed is the power of your spirit filled with His Spirit. When this is the environment that the genes are exposed to you get a complete transformation of your health and your life. You become a whole new person — the old is gone, the new has come.

With man, it is impossible, but with God nothing absolutely nothing is impossible.
