We tend to believe that reality is something we directly observe. Modern neuroscience shows that this assumption is false.
The brain is not a passive receiver of sensory information. It is a predictive organ — constantly generating expectations about what it is about to see, hear, and feel, then comparing those predictions with incoming sensory data.
What you experience as reality is the brain’s best estimate of the world, constructed from:
  • Early life programming
  • Memory and emotional conditioning
  • Learned expectations
  • Present-moment sensory input
Reality is not simply perceived. Reality is constructed.
Why the Same Event Produces Two Different Realities
Two people can witness the same event and experience it completely differently. This is not because one is right and the other is wrong. It is because each brain is running a different predictive program.
The brain interprets sensory input through prior conditioning:
  • Safety versus threat bias
  • Past emotional experiences
  • Identity and belief structures
  • Long-standing stress or fear programming
The senses deliver raw data. The brain assigns meaning — before conscious awareness.
This is why:
  • One person sees danger where another sees neutrality
  • One hears rejection where another hears information
  • One experiences fear where another experiences curiosity
Perception is not objective. It is program-dependent.
Reality Is Generated From the Inside Out
In predictive neuroscience, perception follows a consistent pattern:
  1. The brain generates a prediction
  2. Sensory input is compared to that prediction
  3. Perception is updated only if the mismatch is large enough
Most of the time, the brain does not revise the prediction. It stabilizes it.
This explains why early programming, long-held beliefs, and chronic stress patterns feel so real and so difficult to change. They are not just thoughts — they are entrenched predictive loops shaping perception moment by moment.
New Research: The Sense of Self Is a Brain Frequency State
A new study published in Nature Communications demonstrated that the boundaries of the self — where “me” ends and the external world begins — are not fixed. (1)
By subtly altering the alpha-wave frequency in the parietal cortex, researchers were able to change the perceived boundary between self and world.
This shows that:
  • Identity is not permanent
  • The sense of separation is not absolute
  • “Self” is a dynamic neural state
Reality and identity are state-dependent brain phenomena, not fixed truths.
Memory Predicts Reality Before Sensory Input Arrives
Additional research shows that perception is shaped by memory before sensory information is processed. A study published in Science Advances demonstrated that the hippocampus sends predictive signals to the visual cortex ahead of time, preparing the brain for what it expects to see, what it actually will see. (2)
When expected visual input was omitted, the brain still generated perceptual activity consistent with the prediction.
The brain does not wait for reality. It predicts it. Sensory input fine-tunes the prediction — it does not create perception from scratch.
Expectation Shapes What Is Seen — Not Just How It Is Interpreted.
Further evidence shows that subjective expectations shape perception independently of objective facts.
In controlled experiments, individuals given identical sensory input and identical probabilities still perceived outcomes differently based solely on prior expectation. This confirms that perception is not corrected by facts alone. It is stabilized by prediction.
Reality is not what happens. Reality is what the brain expects to happen.
So What Is Real?
What we call reality is a neural construction, formed at the intersection of:
  • Past programming
  • Memory and emotion
  • Predictive brain models
  • Present sensory input
Change the brain state — and reality changes. Change the prediction — and perception changes.
This is why true healing, transformation, and longevity must begin upstream in the brain, not downstream in the body alone.
Dr. Nemec’s Review
Cutting edge present day neuroscience just confirms our reality is what is programmed into our brain. Not what is actually real, because there is no actual real, everyone is working off of the past predictive programming in the brain. As the studies have shown, the past programming even affects the sensory perception.
How do you change your reality?
Just change the program: the beauty of plasticity of the brain is that it is changeable. It can be reprogrammed with new up-to-date, more accurate information. Most of our brains were programmed in early childhood and in utero and they were subjected to that environment. You did not have a say on how you were programmed, but that’s no problem because you have a say now! You can change the programming now.
If you really think about these studies, you realize how everything is changeable, even the most solid reality you thought there was — it’s only a perception stored as a program.
Even Einstein and his research stated that time and space are relative. They’re not constants, but variable. So how do we apply this in our world, our present lives?
The outcome will change when the programming changes. It’s a simple as that, and as complex as that — meaning it works exactly that way; but to change the programming will take some energy, effort and focus.
Three ways to change:
  1. Willfully focus to change bad to good, to see the life you want instead of the life you have. This is the most difficult of the three ways because it takes the most energy, and it’s most likely to fail because the early programs are deep-seated. This is mind-driven reprogramming.
  2. Discover your purpose and your true identity, and start seeing a life and living a life from that purpose and the identity. This is heart-driven reprogramming.
  3. Heart-Brain Entrainment is a powerful treatment we developed at Revolution New Medicine, combining brain imaging technology, brain wave balancing, and accelerated neural reprogramming.
What can you start doing today?
Do not see everything so permanent: everything is changeable and reprogrammable.
At Revolution New Medicine we also recommend to all of our members three key nutrients for brain health:
These are the base amino acids that build all the neurotransmitters for brain function.
These are the essential fatty acids for the brain which also aid in keeping the brain in an anti-inflammatory state. This product is unique because it’s stabilized in powdered form to increase its potency and stability.
These are the essential phospholipids that make up the majority of the brain tissue.
The take-home message
Reality is not something you passively live in — it is something your brain actively creates.
What feels solid, obvious, and unquestionable is often the result of old predictive programs formed early in life and reinforced over time. The brain does not simply respond to the world; it anticipates it, filters it, and fills in what it expects to find.
Two people can experience the same moment and live in entirely different realities because their brains are running different predictive models. This means perception, identity, and even the sense of self are not fixed. They are dynamic brain states — influenced by memory, emotion, expectation, and neural frequency.
When brain states change, reality changes.
True healing, growth, and longevity begin by updating the predictive programs in the brain that define how life is experienced. When you change the brain’s predictions, you don’t just change how you think — you change the reality you live in.
Dr. Nemec posts daily teachings on Revolution New Medicine’s YouTube channel so make sure to subscribe and listen to the teachings. They will give you a deeper understanding of your journey into total health and longevity.
Here are the ways we can help you in your health journey:

1. Outpatient Comprehensive Teaching and Treatment Program-has the most benefit of teaching, treatment, live classes and personalized coaching. This program has the most contact with Dr. Nemec with 3- 6 month programs that can be turned into a regular checking and support program for life. This is our core program that has helped so many restore their health and maintain that restoration for years.
2. Inpatient Comprehensive Teaching and Treatment Program-is our four-week intensive inpatient program for those that are not in driving distance, usually over 4-hour drive. This is the program that is an intensive jumpstart with treatment, teaching, live classes and coaching designed for all our international patients along with those in the US that do not live in Illinois. This program is very effective especially when combined with our new membership program support.
3. Stay at Home Program-is offered to continental US patients who cannot come to Revolution Health & Fitness but still want a more personal, customized plan to restore their health. This program also includes our Learn Membership Program.
4. Membership Program is our program offered for those that want to work on their health at a high level and want access to the teaching at Revolution New Medicine along with the Forums: both Dr. Nemec’s posts and other members’ postings. And also to have the chance to get personalized questions answered on the member calls, which are all archived in case you miss the call. The Membership Program has 3 levels to choose from: Learn, Overcome and Master. The difference is at the Overcome and Master levels you receive one on one calls with Dr. Nemec personalizing your program for your areas of focus.
