Awakening the Spirit That Never Dies
Seeing Life Through the Eyes of the Spirit
In 2024, researchers Lindsay, Tassell-Matamua, O’Sullivan, and Gibson published “Trauma or Transcendence? The Relationship Between Near-Death Experiences and Dreaming” (Dreaming, APA Journal). They found that individuals who have near-death or out-of-body experiences (NDEs/OBEs) report lasting increases in lucid dreaming and precognitive episodes — consciousness expanding beyond the five senses.
These were not random phenomena; they represented a permanent widening of awareness. The self that glimpsed life beyond the body returned transformed — as if the true consciousness had taken residence within the physical form.
“Once you have seen life through the eyes of your true consciousness, you can never un-see it.”
The Second Identity Awakens
When awareness steps outside the body, it doesn’t just “come back.” It comes through. That awakening reveals the spiritual self — the enduring identity that observes the physical, emotional, and mental self living in time.
Science now provides measurable evidence for this two-self reality.
Scientific Evidence for the Two Selves
Death Awareness and Body–Self Dualism
European Journal of Social Psychology (1)
When reminded of mortality, people who see their self as separate from their body are far more likely to believe in continued existence after death.
Takeaway: The innate sense that “I am not my body nor my emotions” predicts belief in life beyond death — evidence of a natural intuition of an immortal self.
Neural Correlates of Personalized Spiritual Experiences
Cerebral Cortex (2)
Functional MRI scans show that spiritual experiences activate unique neural networks — decreased parietal “boundary” activity and increased frontal-limbic integration linked with unity and meaning.
Takeaway: The spiritual self engages a different brain system than thought or emotion.
The Neuroscientific Study of Spiritual Practices
Frontiers in Psychology (3)
Meditation and prayer consistently reduce activity in the default-mode network (the brain’s ego center) while increasing gamma synchrony, the electrical signature of transcendence.
Takeaway: When the mental self stills, the transcendent self emerges.
“I” and “Me”: The Self in the Context of Consciousness
Frontiers in Psychology (4)
Distinguishes the “Me” (the body-mind personality) from the “I” (the pure observer).
Takeaway: The “I” that witnesses thought and feeling is not material — it is the conscious spirit behind them.
Consciousness, Awareness and Presence
Frontiers in Human Neuroscience (5)
Defines consciousness as changing mental content and awareness as the unchanging backdrop that observes all content.
Takeaway: Awareness itself is timeless — the scientific description of the eternal self.
Spiritual Consciousness and the Integrative Brain
Gavin Journal of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences (6)
Shows that spiritual consciousness produces whole-brain coherence — harmony and empathy replacing fragmentation.
Takeaway: The brain literally integrates when the spiritual self leads.
One Body, Two Selves
The Temporal Self – physical, mental, emotional — lives in time.
The Eternal Self – spiritual, aware, unchanging — exists beyond time.
The first learns through experience.
The second observes through eternity.
When the second awakens, fear dissolves, purpose expands, and love becomes the natural state.
Awakening Without Near-Death
You can access the same higher awareness through daily practice
- Heart-Brain Entrainment – shifts one into Theta-Gamma synchrony, the ultimate heart brain body connection.
- Heart-focused meditation – builds heart–brain coherence.
- Stillness and contemplative prayer – silences thought so true identity can emerge.
- Heart- led compassionate service – expands identity from “me” to “we.”
Each pathway strengthens the signal of the eternal self and quiets the transient one.
Closing Reflection
The Dreaming study began as research on near-death —but its real discovery is about life.
The body may sleep. The mind may rest. But awareness never ends.
That one is child like, always filled with Joy, Peace, and Love,
Dr. Nemec’s review
What the study published in the journal Dreaming showed was that when people have had a near death experience, it is not just an experience but an awakening to a higher level of consciousness. They studied people that had near-death experiences, tracked them afterwards, and found that their dreams reflected permanent changes with two foundational evidences:
Lucid dreaming
Lucid dreaming is a hybrid state of consciousness in which a person becomes aware they are dreaming while still in the dream and may exert partial or full control over the dream narrative.
Lucid dreaming represents an activation of the temporoparietal junction (TPJ) in the brain which is linked with body-awareness and out-of-body perceptions.Theta-Gamma synchrony is common in lucid dreamers, representing high-level integration between cortical regions — the same frequencies seen in meditation masters and near-death EEG recordings.
So we could say Lucid dreaming = REM sleep + restored prefrontal awareness + theta gamma coherence.
Precognition
Precognitive episodes are dreams, intuitions, or spontaneous perceptions that seem to reveal information about future events before they occur. It is like the door is open to the spirit realm and now you can see future or things that are revealed about the future. These are never fearful, always uplifting, and always accurate.
Research at the Maimonides Dream Laboratory (Journal of the American Society for Psychical Research) and more recent replications (e.g.,Frontiers in Psychology) report statistically significant anticipatory dream accuracy beyond chance. The brain may access “non-local” information via entangled temporal processing in the limbic and prefrontal circuits perceiving a higher consciousness.
Precognition can be seen as a conscious awareness, producing “gut feelings of inner knowing” or symbolic dreams predictive of outcomes. These people know things in their dreams and they can see them happen before they actually occur.
Such a powerful Truth is being observed in the scientific community — the concept of the “I” versus the “me”. The “I” can be seen as your true identity, the one that never dies, the one that is eternal. We can call this your spirit. Then there’s the “me”, the one that exists in this time and physicality-bound dimension that is ruled by thoughts and emotions that affect the physical body. This is the one that’s filled with the fear of death, the fear of being alone, the fear of the end. This is the version most live in all of their lives, but there is another version.
The one and only true version is the one that was created by your Father who is God. That version has no fear and does not die. That one does not need and is filled with life, passion, and purpose. That one is child like, always filled with joy, peace, and love, always exploring discovering and living life to the full.
What science is discovering and cannot deny is that there truly are two identities — one is real, and one lives in a dream world, or more accurately stated, a nightmare dream world. This one’s always trying to survive, always trying to be someone or do something. Whereas the other identity is the one that needs nothing because it already has everything; it flows naturally, whereas the other identity is constantly trying to get and hold onto.
So we leave you with this thought, who are you? Are you the one you see in the mirror, or is there another one beyond the mirror? The scientific studies show there is another one. Isn’t it time for you to get to know who you ARE instead of spending more time in who you appear to be, but are not?
Food & Supplement Spotlight
Raw Garlic — The King of Immune-Boosting Raw Foods
Few foods rival the universal power of raw garlic. For thousands of years, across every culture, it has been revered as both food and medicine. Raw garlic is one of nature’s richest sources of phytochemicals, the plant compounds that protect against infection, inflammation, and even cancer.
Garlic has many beneficial effects:
- Stimulates white blood cells and natural killer (NK) cells to destroy viruses and pathogens
- Acts as a natural antibiotic without harming beneficial gut bacteria
- Improves circulation and blood vessel flexibility
- Helps normalize blood pressure naturally
- Reduces LDL cholesterol while raising HDL
- Acts as a natural prebiotic, feeding beneficial bacteria such as Bifidobacterium
- Helps eliminate harmful microbes and yeast from the gut
- Supports balanced blood sugar and insulin sensitivity
- Protects neurons from inflammation and oxidative damage
- Enhances circulation to the brain for better focus and memory
- Stimulates cancer cell apoptosis (natural cell death) and DNA repair
- Strengthens antioxidant defenses throughout the body
- Reduces oxidative stress and chronic inflammation—the root causes of aging
- Supports mitochondrial health and energy production
When crushed or chopped, garlic releases allicin, a potent natural compound that acts as an antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, and antiparasitic agent—a natural antibiotic created by the plant itself. Raw garlic not only eliminates harmful pathogens, it also nourishes beneficial gut bacteria, functioning as both a prebiotic and a mild probiotic.
Its actions extend deep into the immune system—enhancing white blood cell activity, reducing inflammation, improving circulation, and detoxifying the body at the cellular level. It is the true “king” among immune-supportive raw foods, a foundational protector for every health program.
Supplement Focus — Soil-Based Probiotics
Ultra Probiotic SB
While most commercial probiotics fail to survive stomach acid, soil-based probiotics (SBOs) are naturally resilient. These hardy strains—derived from the earth’s healthy soil—arrive alive in the small and large intestines, where they colonize and restore balance to the gut microbiome.
SBOs offer superior diversity and survivability, providing a broader spectrum of beneficial bacteria than standard lactic acid probiotics. They support digestion, reduce inflammation, strengthen immunity, and even influence brain chemistry through the gut-brain axis.
By reintroducing the beneficial microbes our ancestors once consumed from unprocessed foods and living soil, soil-based probiotics help reset the gut’s internal ecosystem—promoting long-term health, stronger immunity, and more balanced energy.
Quick Takeaway
Raw Garlic + Soil-Based Probiotics = Synergistic Immunity
- Garlic destroys harmful pathogens while feeding beneficial gut bacteria.
- Ultra Probiotic SB rebuilds and reseeds the gut ecosystem for lasting protection.
Together they form a powerful natural alliance for total immune defense, gut health, and cellular vitality.
